The activity engaged vessel captains, crew members, and stakeholders in hands-on installation and system training, reinforcing their commitment to improved monitoring, safety, and sustainable fisheries management.
A total of 6 vessels were newly equipped with ALON tracking units, while two 2 units were replaced and 1 was reinstalled. Each vessel also received NFC cards to support digital logging of fishing trips and catch data.
The team carried out onboard installation, configuration, and signal testing to ensure accurate real-time data transmission. Participants were also trained on system operation, maintenance, and key features such as vessel tracking, safety alerts, and data reporting.
This initiative continues to strengthen traceability, safety, and responsible fishing practices within the handline fisheries sector.
